The Big Wrap was a very successful exhibition at the M16 Artspace and one that toured to the Cowra Art Gallery. Nine artists where involved in the show, exploring wrapping and the wrap as a metaphor.
This was the first time I started to fabricate work out of cable ties in a process that I liken very much to knitting. The idea of "looping" was interesting in the context of working with other artists who work predominantly with textiles, or have trained at the textile workshop at the Canberra School of Art.



The inspiration for "Cloak" has its source in the traditional Maori feather cloak (kahu huruhuru). In this context, "Cloak" looks at the traditions of dress that connect the physical body to the spiritual world by the wearing of sacred objects.
