a sense of connectedness

A Sense of Connectedness started out as a series of Canberra landscapes, not landscapes in the traditional sense, but that evoked the hidden spirit of Canberra as a place to live and work.

But then the work took on a life of its own, responding to indigenous art I saw at the time as well as being a direct reference to my relationship, my family and even my paid work.

Someone described the work as 'warm and fuzzy'. I am always interested in how people respond to my work, and this response could be partly due to the use of primary colours ( yellow was a particularly interesting addition as up until this point I had tended to use hues of red and blue).

"Standing", acrylic on board, 94.0 x 76.0cm
