inferno

Initially the inspiration for Inferno came from a Visual Arts Open Access course at the Australian National University School of Art. As the work progressed it became much more a visual expression of a library of imagery I have used in all of my work so far as a practicing artist.

Of course, the richness of the text of Dante's Inferno provided the undercurrent that maintained the process of mark making. And individually, each of the works in this exhibition are based on one of the cantos in Dante's work.
