The The Calleen Art Award was first presented in 1977 through a gift by Patricia Fagan OAM founder of the Calleen Art Collection now housed in the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
In 2009 there were over 100 entries to the Award with around 40 selected for the finalists exhibition. The award aims to support contemporary art practices and encourage originality, creativity and excellence.
